1) Marriott's Village d'lle-de-France
We'd never really considered the idea of self catering when visiting Disneyland Paris. In our naivety, we only thought there were hotels there. We were very fortunate to be invited to stay at the Marriott Village d'lle-de-France and we absolutely loved it. In fact we now can't imagine staying anywhere else.
It is situated in breathtaking surroundings. It's slightly further away than everywhere else mentioned in this post but you can use the resorts shuttle to get to and from the park.
We stayed in a 2 bedroomed townhouse which was amazing. It was a home away from home. It was luxurious but cosy and welcoming. It had everything we needed from a washing machine, TV, huge bathtub to a coffee machine. It was such a lovely place to come back to after a busy day at the park.
The resort itself has plenty of facilities such as a gym, swimming pool, parks, tennis, movie theatre, children's play centre and many more. There are activities for adults and children. There is also a bar, restaurant and a supermarket type shop.
We cannot recommend this place enough. We didn't want to leave. It's perfect for families. We will definitely be returning. You can read my full review blog post here, Marriott.

2) Vienna House Dream Castle Hotel
We've stayed at the Dream Castle 3 times now. Once just the 2 of us and then as a family of 3 and then a family of 4. It's situated within beautiful French gardens and is in the style of a historic palace.
The reception area is big with a small children's play area and a couple of rides/machines. There is also a small Disney souvenir shop.
The bedrooms are always lovely and spacious. We've stayed in a double and a family room. The family room has a bunk bed which Eva thought was great. There is a lot of wardrobe space and the room comes with tea and coffee making facilities. You also get free wifi.
The buffet breakfast is good and the palace mascot often comes around to visit the children. The staff are always friendly and helpful.
There is also a swimming pool and wellness centre and I am very ashamed to say that in all the times we've stayed here, we've never had a chance to use it.
The hotel also has a children's activity and entertainment programme which again we haven't seen as we have always stayed for short periods of time and we have always been too busy visiting the parks.
The hotel is fairly close to the parks and is just a short free shuttle ride away. The downside of the free shuttle is that it is always busy. It reminds me of visiting the Next sale. People become crazy when trying to get on these buses. It sometimes frightened me a bit especially when we had both girls with us. A few times we paid for a taxi.
We've loved our stays here and we'd recommend it to couples and families.

Hubby and I stayed here when it was just the two of us. We really liked it here. It is set in beautiful, green surroundings so the views are fantastic.

The reception area was large and spacious. Our room was lovely. It included tea and coffee provisions and free wifi. The bed was comfortable and I remember the bathroom having very nice smelling toiletries. We were also impressed with the breakfast buffet.

The hotel did seem further out from the Disneyland parks than other hotels we've stayed in but they are easily accessible via their shuttle. I think the fact that it's slightly further away makes it more peaceful and less busy. Their shuttle wasn't as crowded as the others we've used.
We would stay here again.
4) Kyriad
It's been a couple of years since we stayed at the Kyriad. The price attracted us to stay here as it was fairly cheap. It was myself, hubby and Eva who stayed here when she was quite young. We arrived late at night (never fun with children in tow) and our first impressions weren't great.
We checked into our room which felt more like a prison cell. It was tiny. I don't know whether all the rooms are like that or we were just put in one of the worst ones in the hotel. It was very dark with hardly any natural light during the daytime. They also hadn't put the cot we requested in the room which again didn't help when arriving late at night.
We both hated the room. The bed was very uncomfortable. It really wasn't the type of place you could put your feet up and relax after a busy day at the park. We spent as little time in the room as possible.
Breakfast reminded me of queueing for school dinners. I appreciate you have to queue for these things but the queue was actually outside of the building. This isn't ideal for parents, let alone kids. Our only saving grace was that it wasn't raining. To top it all off the breakfast really wasn't worth queuing for :(
The hotel is close to the park and you can use the free shuttle provided. However, as i've already mentioned prepare for an almost hunger games style battle to get yourself onto one of those.
I don't know whether this hotel has improved at all since we've been but our experience there has put me off for life and I wouldn't recommend it when there are plenty of other better accommodations available.
Have you stayed in any of these places? Have you got any recommendations?

Nice to have a useful review of some of the accomodation. You kind of expect a standard with them, but I know from friend's stays and things I've seen on TV that this is not always the case.
ReplyDeleteI was considering a stay at Radisson Blue one year but decided on Marriott Village (which was lovely), so it's good to know it's your favourite.
ReplyDeleteI did like Disney New York Hotel for the convenience of being on-site, the rooms were quite spacious too.
I've stayed at the Marriot village before and think its lovely. Close by and convenient. We stayed at an actual Disney hotel before but it makes things like breakfast and he shuttle bus carnage, as everyone is going to the same place at the same time. Much more chilled elsewhere x
ReplyDeleteThat shuttle bus is the stuff of nightmares x
DeleteI didn't realise there were so many choices in terms of accommodation at Disneyland Paris, thanks for the review :)
ReplyDeleteGreat review, and always good to have recommendations for future trips. We went to Disneyland paris before we had the youngest three, I can't even remember which one we stayed at but it was lovely!
ReplyDeleteGreat review and i am so looking forward to going later this year hopefully!
ReplyDeleteI love the fact you've listed all these hotels - gives readers an idea of what they can expect which is such valuable first hand knowledge!
ReplyDeleteI've never been to Disney in Paris but this is a great review. I would probably choose one close to the park but your favourite looks amazing
ReplyDeleteMarriott's village does look blissful and I can definitely see myself staying there. I've never been to Disneyland Paris so one day we'll definitely go :)
ReplyDeleteIt was so peaceful x
Deletethose accommodations are really nice! I really like the Dream Castle, it looks so lovely! x
ReplyDeleteIt's one of our faves x
DeleteWe have only ever stayed onsite, but these hotels look fabulous
ReplyDeleteThis is such a useful post. We'll go in a few years I think but I've bookmarked this for later
ReplyDeleteThese all look like such fantastic hotels - we are hoping to go to Disneyland Paris at some point this year so going to bookmark this post for future reference
ReplyDeleteLaura x
Yes defo. It can be overwhelming when looking at all the accommodation x
DeleteWe're staying at an on site hotel when we go but would definitely consider dream castle for a cheaper option in the future x
ReplyDeleteOh wow, definitely one to bookmark for future trip planning! I also didn't realise there was a self catering option - there's definitely a lot of choice! Great post, thanks for sharing :)
ReplyDeleteLooks like you had lovely time with your family:) Accomodations are really fantastic and they are in good standard:) Thanks for the review:)
ReplyDeleteI went just before Christmas and loved it. We stayed in the Disney Village and it was really handy for all the attractions x
ReplyDeleteI will be saving this post as we are looking into going to Disneyland some time this year or maybe next year
ReplyDeleteThis must be such a useful post for anyone planning a trip to Disneyland Paris. I had no idea what kind of accommodation was available there.
ReplyDeleteJenna at Tinyfootsteps xx
Some great photos! I love the look of the bunkbeds, especially as someone else changes the sheets!
ReplyDeleteWe're off to DLP later this year, we are driving and staying at the Davy Crockett Ranch so I'm hoping it's nice, I've heard good things about it. Looks like we will avoid fighting for the shuttle this way too which suits me!
ReplyDeleteWow you have been there a lot! I'm pretty sure we stayed at the Dreams Castle Hotel - it looks very familiar anyway - we weren't mad about it. I'm hoping the next time we go, we'll get to stay a bit closer. The townhouse looks gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely review! We did self catering when we visited but then the only option was self catering. Lodges. They were great and it suited us far better as it gave us some nice valuable down time away from the madness for s few hours
ReplyDeleteThis is such a fab informative post! Only yesterday were Josh and I discussing maybe booking a trip to disney before Bella starts school next year! xo
ReplyDeleteI remember going to Disneyland Paris when I was a kid, no wonder why you keep going back. It's really informative that you give a review of accomodation, that's very useful to people! :)
ReplyDeleteA great selection, something that would suit most people. I really like Marriott's Village d'lle-de-France this would be perfect for our family.
ReplyDeleteVienna House and Radisson Blu are some that I want to stay in next time I visit Disneyland Paris.
ReplyDeleteVienna House Dream Castle is where I stayed when we went to DLP in May 2016, and it was beautiful! As we're currently trying to plan a second trip, I'm definitely saving this post! But I completely agree with you about the shuttle bus. We ended up leaving later in the morning for the parks, and then left the parks earlier than most people as we weren't sure we'd manage to get a shuttle at the busy times!
ReplyDeleteI've never been to Disneyland Paris but I'd love to, thanks for sharing your favourite places to stay I'll have to check one out when I finally get to go!
ReplyDeleteI really hope to take my Beans to Disney one day, they all keep asking when can we go but with four children I'm not sure we will ever be able to afford it. I am surprised (happily) by the array of accommodation available x
ReplyDeleteYou know what, we live in Paris and we still haven't been. It's just a case of we'll get round to it one day!
ReplyDeleteThe Vienna house castle looks brilliant with the little bunk beds hidden by a curtain. I've never been to any Disney. It's on my bucket list.
ReplyDeleteI havent been to DisneyLand Paris before, my OH has and my eldest son went with the school so I feel a bit left out haha. It's good to know there are lots of different options for if we visit though!
ReplyDeleteThose hotels do look good, but i'd rather stay onsite at Disney. I've stayed at the New York, Newport Bay, Cheyenne and Santa Fe before and had great times. I wouldn't want to stay offsite if i went to Disneyland Paris x
