The Celebrity Cup at The Celtic Manor

One of our favourite hotels in South Wales is The Celtic Manor Resort. We often go there for afternoon tea and we've spent wedding anniversaries there too. The hotel itself is renowned for its world class golf offerings after hosting The Ryder Cup in 2010 so when I was asked if I'd like to attend The Celebrity Cup, I had to say yes.

I'll be the first to admit that I've never actually watched golf. I've dabbled in playing a few times but that's as far as my knowledge stretches. I wasn't sure what I'd think of the event but knowing that both my husband and I enjoy outings to the hotel, I thought it was the perfect opportunity to watch a game.

The Celebrity Cup is played over 2 days by an array of celebrities in 4 teams from Wales, Scotland, Ireland and England. Teams go head to head to raise vital funds for Velindre Cancer Centre.

We arrived at the event and my first impression was how beautiful the course was. I've never really thought of a golf course as being in a pretty setting but this one was stunning. It had sweeping views of South Wales and beyond and of course the hotel as a backdrop. We really lucked out with the weather. It was clear skies and sunny, making for ideal conditions to soak up the atmosphere.

The first thing we did was head to the food tent after being enticed by the wonderful aroma. There were a few different things to choose from but we opted for the Cen pop up (which is an Asian restaurant based in the hotel). The food was delicious and the portion size was just right.

There were plenty of drink offerings but we opted for a jug of Pimms, which was perfectly refreshing in the hot weather.

We then watched the golf. We followed the players around the course and I was surprised at how much I enjoyed it (although I was worried about being hit In the head with a ball).

The amazing Red Arrows also did a 'fly past' which was spectacular

Team Wales were crowned this year's Celebrity Cup winner's after beating England 14-12.

Overall, we enjoyed our new experience. It made for a lovely day date. We would return again.

*Thank you to The Celtic Manor Resort for inviting me to attend the event. I wasn't asked to write a post but I have written one. All view and opinions are my own*

What I Wore in Disney - June

One thing I love about when we go to Disney is planning my outfits. I recently started Disneybounding and you can read about my very first Disneybound which was a Mickey Mouse inspired outfit here, Mickey Mouse Disneybound

Our last trip to Disney was at the beginning of June. We only had 3 days there this time but that included the Fandaze event. I managed to wear 4 different outfits whilst we were there.

On our first day we had lunch at Auberge de Cendrillon which the girls thought was amazing. We had matching Alice in Wonderland dresses on, from the Disney X Cath Kidston range. They are perfect for summer months in Disney as they are quite thin. Lots of the cast members commented on them so my girls were extremely happy.

On our second day hubby and I wore our twinning Monster's Inc t-shirt's from Popcorn clothing. I am obsessed with them. They are great quality and wash well. I paired mine with customised ears from Hannah Marie Magic. If you follow me on Instagram then you'll know how much I adore Hannah's creations. The majority of my ear collection are from her shop.

In the evening it was the after hours Fandaze event. We decided to honour Moana so both of the girls wore their costumes and I did a Moana bound. My ears were again by Hannah Marie Magic and my top and shorts were from Primark. It was quite hot that day/eve so a Moana bound was ideal.

On our last day I wore an outfit which I bought in Disneyland Paris. It was from the Minnie Mouse fashion range. I'd bought the top and skirt earlier in the year and then managed to get the cardigan in June with 50% off plus my annual pass discount on top of that, so it ended up being an absolute bargain.

What was your favourite outfit out of the 4 I wore?

Looking after number one at John Lewis

Being a working mum can be pretty tiring and rather stressful. I constantly seem to be busy. If i'm not washing clothes or taking the kids somewhere then I am working a long 10 hour shift. Not only that I suffer with Post Natal Depression (PND). You can read one of my posts here, This is PND for me. I've openly discussed my PND journey across my social media so if you're a regular reader you will know that I am not very good at putting myself first and indulging in self care. I am getting better at it and I now able to recognise when I am becoming burnt out and overwhelmed before it is too late.

I was delighted when John Lewis Cardiff invited me to join them for a well-being Yoga morning. Knowing how busy i've been, this sounded exactly like the mummy me time I needed.

John Lewis is aiming to promote and improve the well-being of its customers by providing a one stop shop for everything you need to relax, destress and indulge in some TLC. Whether that's with a makeover, a hand and arm massage, a shopping trip with a personal stylist, some new gym equipment or simply a coffee and a cake, they aim to maximise your mood.

I was gifted with a fantastic new gym kit from John Lewis and Shock Absorber of a top and cropped trousers to wear to the Yoga Class. I've never tried their gym range before and I must admit I haven't taken them off since. The trousers are very comfortable and supportive.

The Yoga class was a small, intimate class led by local instructor Lorraine. The room was beautifully set and I immediately felt calm and relaxed. The session lasted around 45 minutes and I really enjoyed it. I'm not the most flexible person but it certainly cleared my mind. It was a great way to start the day.

I was then treated to a healthy breakfast in the John Lewis restaurant along with some refreshing fruit tea's whilst watching a demonstration of the Nutri Bullet.

My pampering didn't end there. I was then given a lovely hand and arm massage by the ladies from Liz Earle. I'm a big fan of their products, especially their cleansing hot cloth. The products they used smelt amazing.

I really enjoyed my morning of well being. It helped to remind me to look after myself and practice mindfulness too. I came away from the event feeling positive and ready to take on the day.

You can check your local store for a list of their events here, What's on.

*Thank you to John Lewis Cardiff for inviting me to the well-being event and gifting me a goody bag. All views and opinions are my own and as always are truthful*

We're Konfidence Swimologists

We are so pleased to announce that this year we are Konfidence Swimologists. Throughout the year we will be working with Konfidence and putting their swimming products to the test. I will also be sharing lots of travel tips and swimming and sun safety tips.

This is a dream collaboration for us as both of the girls are water babies but in different ways. Eva adores the water but lacks confidence. She is quite frightened but she is determined to get past it. She is always in the pool on holiday and asks if she can go swimming every week so i'm hoping that working with Konfidence will increase her own confidence.

Ophelia on the other hand thinks she is Moana. She will gladly run and jump into any pool and she shows no fear. I'm sure this love of the water is due to her spending the first 3 months of her life in Australia and living in her nanny's pool. I haven't quite decided whether her confidence is a good thing or not. As parent's we have to have eyes in the back of our heads with her. I'm hoping that being A Swimologist will help her learn about safety in the water.

Let me tell you more about the brand:

Konfidence are Europe's leading dedicated designers and manufacturers of baby swimming and learn to swim products for children and adults. The brand was established in 1998 so this year marks their special 20th anniversary. Konfidence have one multiple awards and are loved by celebrities, bloggers and families alike.

As part of being Swimologists we got to head to Alton Towers to try out all of our new products. Look out for my posts about that incredible weekend coming up over the next week.

I have a 10% off discount code running until the 31st December 2018 so if you need to buy anything to survive the heatwave or get ready for summer holidays then use code Swimologist234

Me and Mine Project - June 2018

June has been such an exciting month for us. I think it's been the best month we've had so far this year. We had something exciting to do every week.

You can catch up with my last Me and Mine update which was April here, Me and Mine April which included a lot of Disney pics. Well spoiler alert, guess what this update is starting with.

Over half term week, which was the end of May and the beginning of June we went to stay in a Eurocamp in France which we loved. You can read my review here, La Croix du Vieux Pont. It was about a 1 hour 20 minute drive from Disneyland Paris so once again we used that as an excuse to make the most of our annual passes. We went for the day on the Friday and we also went to the exclusive Fandaze party on the Saturday night. It was great. Walt Disney Studios was open from 8pm - 2am with lots of unusual meet and greats, parades and the rides were open. We had to meet our favourite character which is Mickey Mouse as he was wearing a special Fandaze costume. Annoyingly this was the only family picture we took.

The girls surprised us and stayed awake for hours. They both loved it especially the Ducktales parade.

This month we've also signed up to the Disney Incredibles 2 - 24 hour challenge which encourages us to participate in 24 hours of exercise over the summer, together as a family. So far we've done some yoga and swimming. You can sign up to the challenge too by clicking here, 24 hour challenge. Every time you log a time you'll be entered into a weekly prize draw to win prizes. You can also post pictures of you and your family on instagram and tag myself @kerrylouisenorris and @disneyuk and use #disney24hourchallenge to win a £150 voucher. It's a great way to keep active over the summer.

Towards the end of the month we had a weekend away in Alton Towers which was incredible. Arwyn and I haven't been since we've had children. On the Friday night we stayed in the Splash Landing's hotel and on the Saturday we stayed in the Cbeebies hotel. We had such a good time. we managed to get on all the rides we wanted to. The 'smiler' was mine and hubby's favourite.

It's the first time we've seen the girls really playing well together and enjoying each other's company. It was just lovely to see. They joined in Cbeebies activities together and they even got on stage together.

On the last day we went to the waterpark which was great fun although Ophelia was very unsure at first. I went on one of the rides and ended up with the biggest wedgie known to mankind but it was all in the name of good fun.

We have a few exciting things in July so i'll have to remember to get some family shots.

Together this month we've loved:
  • The Heatwave
  • Ducktales
  • Ice cream
  • Cbeebies Land
  • BBQ food
  • Swimming
