A Spring Wardrobe Update with JD Williams

As much as I love winter clothes for the comfiness, the layers and the boots, my favourite season for fashion is spring/summer. We've been experiencing some mild weather so far so when JD Williams got in touch to ask if I'd like to pick some of their new pieces, I couldn't say no. It was a great time to update my wardrobe.

I'll fully admit that JD Williams is somewhere I have never shopped before because I thought it was for an 'older woman'. How wrong was I? My first impressions when browsing the website was that I couldn't believe how much choice there was. I also only thought they did their own clothes so I was pleasantly surprised to find many fantastic high street names such as Monsoon, Oasis and more. Another thing I didn't realise was that they sell things other than clothes.

I was completely spoilt for choice with their new in fashion section but there was one print that kept catching my eye and that was 'animal' print. Animal print had been huge over the winter season taking many different shapes, forms, colours and patterns which was great to see and I'm so pleased to see it continuing into the spring/summer trends.

I was instantly drawn to a 'Black and White Maxi Skirt'. It has an animal print on one side and plain black on the other making it very striking. It can be worn casually with a baggy jumper or a tee and paired with boots or trainers. It is also perfect for an evening paired with a shirt/blouse and heels. I can imagine wearing it in the summer with a loose fitting tee and sandals.

I found the perfect jacket to match the skirt and that was the 'Oasis Curve Faux Leather Biker Jacket' which is in Ochre. Ochre is one of my favourite summer colours. It goes perfectly against a tan. The jacket is a match made in heaven with the skirt as it makes the animal print pop.

I also chose a 'Leopard Print Swing Dress'. During the transition from winter to to spring/summer, I like to wear casual dresses with tights and ankle boots. Even though this one is long sleeved it's a thin material so it could be worn throughout the year.

Last up I chose something for the gym, an 'Under Armour Favourite Duffle Bag'. I didn't have a proper gym bag so I needed one anyway but I wanted one with a bit of colour and found this lovely pale blue one. It's a great size and it's water resistant as let's face it that's an essential in this country with the wet weather. In fact as I'm typing this now it's pouring down with rain. The last thing you'd want when you got to the gym would be damp trainers.

What do you think of my picks from the website? Have you shopped with them before? Head over to my instagram to see more pictures of the clothes, Kerry Louise Norris.
