How to Choose an Engagement Ring

If you're about to propose to your special someone you are probably over the moon about what happens next. However, there is one thing you need to do before you can get to your wedding day.

You will need to select an engagement ring. Selecting a diamond that gets those eyes popping is always a goal. Here are some tips that will help you select the right sparkler for your fiance's finger.

Consider the Shape

A key consideration that you can't afford to miss is the shape of the lab diamond. There are so many different diamond shapes out there you might be confused about which one you should go with.

Whatever shape you choose it should flatter your fiance's hand and bring joy to their heart and eyes whenever they look at it.

Consider the personality of your fiance when you are selecting the cut of the diamond! Do they love excitement? Are they energetic? Are they stoic and quiet or an overthinker?

If you are not quite sure it's best to always go with a princess or round cut. This way you can be sure that you're going to get something that looks great.

Watch Your Weight

You don't want something that will weigh your fiance's finger down so much that it feels as if they are carrying a load. You probably want something that is not too lightweight.

Most rings may be one or two carats. If you're looking for a ring that's so shiny the light bounces off of it every time and causes heads to turn, you're probably going to need to go with something heavy like a two-carat diamond.

Choose the Right Jeweler

You want a jeweler who knows diamonds like the back of their hand. This way you can be sure that when they authenticate the diamond you will be able to sleep at night knowing that this is the correct assessment.

A great diamond not just has a great price but it should also give you peace of mind as well. You don't want to be worrying about whether you have dropped a lot of cash on something that isn't authentic.

Consider Your Budget

You must consider your budget before you buy a ring. You don't want to break your piggy bank or leave your pockets completely dry and empty.

An engagement ring is not a purchase you should regret after making it. You want to make sure that you buy a ring you can't afford and still have money left over to pay for your wedding.

You want to bring that up and ask any question about your fiance and let your eyes light up. However, you have to remember that there are other things you need to consider such as the wedding.

If you want to look smashingly handsome like Prince Charming and for your bride to look drop-dead gorgeous on your wedding day, you're going to need money, so don't spend it all on the ring.
