Loads! We rarely spend Christmas day at home so the build up for Christmas is really important to me. We have an activity advent calendar and we do a christmas themed activity on most days in December. We usually put up a very small tree early in December and put any homemade decorations on it as they are made.
2 - What’s your ultimate Christmas movie?
I would have chosen Miracle on 34th street but we watched Home Alone a few days ago and my almost 8 year old was in total hysterics so I think that’s going to be a firm family favourite.
3 - What 3 songs would be top of your festive playlist?
Mistletoe and Wine, Last Christmas and Fairytale of Newyork
4 - Are you an online shopper or do you go to the actual stores?
I really love going to the stores at Christmas, I love the hustle and bustle and all of the beautiful decorations but for practicality I mainly shop online
5 - Do you make shopping lists or buy things when you see something nice?
I have lists of lists! Although, this year I seem to have bought a lot of random things so I need to get it all out and decide what I still need to buy
6 - Do you send Christmas cards?
No - I say it’s because I’m being kinder to the planet but mainly I’m far too lazy. I love receiving them though even though it makes me feel a bit guilty for never sending them
7 - Do you have an elf on the shelf? What do you do with it?
No - I think the advent stuff is plenty to do.
8 - Do you have chocolate advent calendars or something else?
We have ‘Advent Activity Jars’ - I put an activity, a piece of chocolate or a toy in each jar. I tried to get out of it last year because we moved house mid-December with a 6 month old and a 7 year old but my oldest was desparate to still do it.
9 - Do you do a Christmas eve box? If so what’s in it?
Yes - although it isn’t actually a box - it’s a bag. We put new PJs (not necessarily Christmas themed just nicer ones than I may buy anyway; a new Christmas themed book; and bath toys/smellies. The main aim is to encourage the kids to go to bed!!
10 - Do you make any gifts?
I often sew some of my gifts. One year I only gave homemade gifts to my 11 nieces and nephews but that made it all a bit stressful so now I sew if I feel like it!
11 - Do you do any Christmas crafts?
Yes, I usually get my son to make something for his grandparents. Last year we decorated mugs.
12 - If you could only eat 3 things from your Christmas dinner, what would they be?
Roast potatoes, pigs in blankets and christmas pudding
13 - What’s your favourite festive tipple?
Mulled wine
14 - Where are you spending Christmas this year?
We’re having a big Christmas party with my side of the family just before Christmas and spending Christmas day with my inlaws
15 - If you could go to any Christmas market in the world where would you go?
I have no idea! I used to really like Manchester Christmas Markets when we lived there. I think the Uk are pretty good at doing Christmas markets and I wouldn’t particularly want to travel abroad too close to Christmas - it would be nice to have some snow though!

1 - Do you have any family Christmas traditions?
Yes. We have a memory tree instead of a Christmas tree. It is decorated with items we collect from the places we visit as a family, as well as those the children have made. It is wonderful unpacking all the items and placing on the tree, talking about all the places we have been as a family. I love watching the girls remember different places too.
2 - What’s your ultimate Christmas movie?
I used to always watch the Muppets Christmas Carol with my sisters every Christmas eve, so for me this is my ultimate Christmas movie.

Online shopper, I actually really have a dislike for shopping so avoid it at all costs during the year.

A bit of both. I start shopping in the sales and I also enter competitions throughout the year to try and win presents.
6 - Do you send Christmas cards?
No I donate money to a charity instead.
7 - Do you have an elf on the shelf? What do you do with it?
No, I really do not get the elf on the shelf thing. Perhaps someone could explain it to me?
8 - Do you have chocolate advent calendars or something else?
I have a handmade advent calendar which I fill with different items. This included chocolate, books and toys. They girls get something different each day.
9 - Do you do a Christmas eve box? If so what’s in it?
No, but the kids get given new PJ to wear on Christmas eve and they are also allowed to choose one present from under the tree to open on Christmas eve too.
10 - Do you make any gifts?
Yes we always make the gifts for the teachers. Last year we made gingerbread snowflakes. I think this year we will do peppermint creams.
11 - Do you do any Christmas crafts?
Yes we love to do Christmas crafts and last year I made a few videos which are over on my YouTube channel. I have a few planned for this year too so keep an eye out over on the channel.
12 - If you could only eat 3 things from your Christmas dinner, what would they be?
Meat, Sprouts and Roast Potatoes
13 - What’s your favourite festive tipple?
Sloe Gin
14 - Where are you spending Christmas this year?
We spend Christmas day at home! We will visit family over the Christmas period as well.
15 - If you could go to any Christmas market in the world where would you go?
Not a Christmas Market but I would love to see what Disney World in Orlando is like over Christmas, I bet it is magical. I visited the Christmas market in Lapland one year and that was amazing!

This rocky road recipe is so quick and easy,
tastes and looks great, only problem is saving some for anybody else to try! It would make a perfect edible gift this Christmas and especially as a thank you gift for teachers.
Ingredients:
250
g unsalted butter, plus extra for greasing
400
g chocolate
100
g golden syrup
250
g digestive biscuits
200
g smarties (Red and Green to make it festive)
1
large handful of marshmallows
1
handful of chocolate biscuits
icing
sugar for dusting
FOR INGREDIENTS
Method:
1 - Grease and line a cake tin (roughly 20cm x 25cm). Half-fill a
medium pan with boiling water and simmer over a low heat. Place a heatproof
bowl over the pan of simmering water and melt the butter, chocolate and golden
syrup together, stirring well
2 - Once the mixture is smooth, wrap the digestive biscuits in a
clean tea towel and bash with a rolling pin into rough pieces, then add to the
mixture. Add the rest of your fillings, and marshmallows.
3 - Mix everything together until well combined then pour the
mixture into the lined tin. Push in a few chocolate biscuits. Pop in the fridge
for at least 2 hours, or until set. Once firm, remove from the fridge,
carefully remove from the tin and finish with a dusting of icing sugar. Cut
into squares and give to friends and family if you can resist not eating them
all yourself first.
