Fancy A Staycation? The Ones To Consider

I love to travel, it is true. I have been to some amazing destinations recently, and I am so lucky to explore the world with my family. But one thing I think many of us don’t do enough of, is explore the country we live in. The UK is in fact a destination that people travel far and wide to see, so as British people, how come we don’t experience it ourselves a little more? I thought as Spring is finally here and plans will be made for the up and coming summer break, I would share with you some of the things you could consider if you want to take on a staycation this year.

Enjoying the great British holiday

When you think of the ultimate British seaside holiday, you may imagine ice creams on the breach, penny arcades, donkey rides and walks along the pier. Blackpool and Southport tend to be two of the most iconic British seaside holiday destinations, and even today, you can feel the nostalgia of it. There are, of course, a few modern updates with the Pleasure beach at Blackpool, for example. But it could certainly be a great staycation to consider this year.

Taking a city break

Maybe you enjoy exploring cities when you book a break away, and while Europe has a lot to offer, so do we here in the UK. London is a real hustle and bustle of city, but there is also the like of Birmingham, Manchester, Newcastle and hopping the border to here in Wales for Cardiff or heading further North to Edinburgh or Glasgow.

Enjoying a camping trip

Anyone with a young family will know that there are some experiences that a child will see as a real adventure and camping is one of them. Camping can be a real affordable choice of holiday, especially if you already have the gear. However, it only takes one investment and then you have an array of holidays ahead of you. Places like the Peak District, the Lake District or further south in destinations like Devon or Cornwall could be ideal places to camp up and have your own adventure.

Taking on a UK road trip

We all hear people have road trips on their bucket lists but some destinations for these probably include the likes of Australia or America, am I right? But what is topping you taking a road trip here in the UK? An infographic called Every Road on Earth highlights just how easy it is to get out on the road and feel connected from one destination to another. Hiring a car could be a better option allowing you to have a bigger vehicle to store everything you need.

Creating a bucket list of fabulous places

Finally, don’t be afraid to spend some time creating a bucket list for this country. We all have those faraway places we want to see but there are some amazing locations right here to explore. Jurassic coast full of fossils of prehistoric creatures. The white cliffs of Dover. Lands end and John O’Groats. When you start looking there will be an endless list of places to see.

I hope that this has given you some inspiration on destinations to see here in the UK.
